Pairing Cigars with Spirits: Rum, Tequila, and Beyond

A great pairing follows one simple instinct: match weight with weight. A mild, creamy cigar is overwhelmed by a cask-strength spirit, while a powerful Maduro can flatten a delicate pour. Balance is everything.

Aged rum is the classic partner, its caramel and dried-fruit sweetness echoing a cigar's richness. Añejo tequila works beautifully too, its oak and vanilla bridging into the smoke. Bourbon brings sweetness and spice; a peaty Scotch can stand up to the boldest cigars. Even coffee or a dark stout can pair surprisingly well.

The goal is conversation, not competition — each sip should reset your palate for the next draw. Tell our bartenders what you're smoking and let them build the pairing. That back-and-forth between glass and cigar is the heart of the lounge.
